With a background in teaching, she brings a sound understanding of what children find funny to her writing, as well as a zip and zest that is immediately infectious. She lives in London. Deborah Allwright Short-listed for the V&A Illustration Award, Deborah has made a dramatic impact on the picture book scene since the publication of The Night Pirates. She works in a studio in Islington, stopping only to attend designer clothes sales, and to do a spot of DJing at music festivals.
