There are big celebrations at the Harbour for the brand new pleasure boat, The Merry Midas, and the Ballygandon Gang go to join the fun. Brendan is showing off his new digital camera to his cousin Molly and their friend Dessy, when suddenly through a cabin window he sees a strange sight. The boat’s captain is secretly passing a wad of banknotes to a politician who has helped to build with the boat government money. CLICK! Brendan’s camera has caught the scene.
It is a picture that leads to hair-raising adventures, as the captain’s henchmen pursue the Ballygandon Gang to try and snatch the camera. Through hiding-places on boats, in caves and in a haunted castle the chase goes on. The Gang uncover crimes even more sinister than bribery, while thieves double-cross each other and will stop at nothing to get hold of the glittering loot.
On the way, the Gang get help from Brendan’s eccentric grandfather, Molly’s dog Tina and the library cat Internet, as well as from the weird and eerie activities of the ghostly spirit of Princess Ethna. The excitement builds to a triumphant finale with the appearance of the legendary creature, the Lough Gandon Monster!
