Amazon.co.uk Review
When Willy, literally, bumps into Hugh they both apologise profusely and soon become fast friends. When Willy is bothered by Buster the bully, Hugh is on hand to defuse the situation; and when Hugh is frightened by a ‘terrifying creature’, Willy is able to return the favour.
Anthony Browne’s colourful illustrations tell their own story–the picture of the friends gazing at the humans in the cages at the zoo, for instance, speaks volumes. This apparently simple story of friendship works on many levels as Anthony Browne’s humour and sympathy for the apparent underdog shines through in both text and illustrations. (Ages 3 and over)
