Easter Week 1916. The time of the great rebellion. They call it the Easter Rising. The Irish Volunteers take on the mighty British Empire, fighting for freedom from British rule, led by school principal, barrister and poet Padraig Pearse.
Even though Pearse and his Volunteers were defeated, and he and the other leaders were shot by firing squad, their names will be remembered forever, because he knew that ‘Ireland unfree will never be at peace’.
