Hari is a dreamer with an unusual talent. He spends the few coins he earns washing cars on cinema trips to watch (and learn from) his beloved Bollywood films. Then one day Hari’s gloriously fancy footwork is spotted by Mr Ram, a man on a mission to resolve conflicts near and far. Hari so entrances everyone with his magical dancing that soon he is summoned to the White House itself where his electric feet bring harmony to the presidential couple and an easier life for Hari’s family.
Review
“Funny, clear, with a kind message and a moral purpose characteristic of McCall Smith, this is also a celebration of the power of art. And Sam Usher s deft comic illustrations…make this an exquisite object.” –Nicolette Jones, The Sunday Times
“the warm-hearted story of a young boy with an extraordinary talent… will enchant young readers and make them think.” –The Good Schools Guide
“The story is as tempting and delicious as Hari s coconut barfi, and its engaging narrator will have readers almost convinced it s a true story; the world would certainly be a better place if it was.” –Andrea Reece, LoveReading4Kids
