When Chloe’s big brother Will breaks his leg, he’s stuck in hospital for weeks. Mum and Dad are frantic, and there’s no one to look after Will’s Border Collie puppy, Jess. Jess is miserable and lonely, and so is Chloe. But Chloe doesn’t really like dogs, and Jess only wants Will.

Holly Webb started writing while working as a children’s books editor and has now written books for Scholastic, Bloomsbury and Orchard, as well as thirteen titles for Stripes Publishing. She lives in Reading with her husband and their young family, along with their very spoilt cat. Sophy Williams took a degree in graphic art at Kingston and in 1988 was runner-up in the Reader’s Digest Young Illustrators Competition. In 1981 her first illustrated book When Grandma Came was runner-up for the Mother Goose Award.
